About This Lesson

When does AI support learning, and when does it replace thinking? Students explore cognitive effort and cognitive debt through a hands-on card game and a student-friendly summary of MIT research. They debate real classroom scenarios, reflect on their own habits, and make a personal AI-use commitment. The 50–60 minute lesson includes a classroom AI Use Companion guide. It fits advisory, study skills, health, or any class setting expectations for AI use. Explore the full, free PreK–12 curriculum at dayofai.org.
