About This Lesson
Search for microbial life on simulated exoplanets and learn what types of environments are habitable and what variables are important for life to survive on other worlds. The activity can be set up as a demonstration or students can be given background information to complete the activity on their own. If students cannot read, an instructor will need to present each planet's characteristics. The activity presents basic concepts of astrobiology (the search for life on other planets), space science, microbiology, and earth science. Created by Montana State University's astrobiology program.
