About This Lesson
This book and activity is designed to help children aged 3 through 8 understand the most basic concept of life science: What it means to be alive. Through beautiful illustrations and child-centered prose, young students will journey with siblings Kit and Charlie as they contemplate the world around them. The accompanying classroom activity touches on astrobiology -- the search for life on other planets: if we want to recognize life elsewhere, we first have to define life here on Earth.
