What makes a school successful? In this compendium, the Learning First Alliance identifies six critical elements. Based on the experience and expertise of its members, who collectively represent more than 10 million educators, parents and policymakers, LFA also makes clear that how these elements are implemented and integrated depends greatly on context, with each successful school developing programs specific to their goals and challenges.
Educators can use this publication in their own school improvement efforts, assessing their school’s strengths in relation to the elements and identifying areas for improvement. They can also use it in advocacy work to help the public understand why some schools succeed and push for policies that will allow for meaningful change.
