About This Lesson

In this lesson students study and appreciate food traditions around the world, including their own food. Students will investigate foods that are prepared in different ways around the world and choose plants to grow in an international garden. They will also analyze the different ingredients in a FoodPrints recipe.

Use this lesson to connect with books like Dumplings for Lili by Melissa Iwai, Bee-Bim Bop! by Linda Sue Park, Bilal Cooks Dal by Aisha Saeed, What's Cooking at 10 Garden Street by Felicita Salaand. Try recipes for Aloo Palak, Biriyani, Colcannon, Moroccan Carrot Salad, and Peruvian Pumpkin Stew.
