About This Lesson
Girl Rising uses the power of storytelling to change the way the world values girls and their education and to ignite change. Through powerful stories of girls around the world who stand up to the obstacles they face, students are introduced to the importance of educating girls and the challenges girls face in accessing education.
In this activity, students will use thinking and reflection skills to understand the meaning of self-advocacy and make connections between video stories, texts and their own lives.
This lesson is part of a collection of topics on Share My Lesson from Girl Rising that work in conjunction with one another.
