About This Lesson
In this phonics video lesson, students practice writing the letter W while learning the sound that it makes. They also preview five phonograms that include the letter W, which are wr, wh, ow, aw, and ew. Then, they write two verses from the rhyme, "Wee Willie Winkie."
I like that phonograms wr, wh, ow, aw, and ew are covered in this lesson. Kids who recognize phonograms and their sounds, not just letters and their sounds, have an easier time reading anything. It's great for kids that are getting bored with graded readers.
