About This Lesson
To better understand the 16 Career Clusters outlined in the Nebraska Career Education Model, the students will construct a Calendar using the Clusters for each month (four months will have two clusters).
For each month, the Cluster Name is Highlighted and a definition if given. The list of Pathways is given. Finally, a picture/clipart is attached depicting the particular cluster.
This is Part 1 of a two part project on Career Research. After they construct the Calendar, they will research specific careers for themselves. I've used a variety of Projects for them to elaborate on their career research (iBook, Powerpoint Presentation, Brochure).
The careers they research are based of Aptitude Surveys they took. The three main surveys we use in class are: Career Clusters Survey, Nebraska Career Connections Interests Survey (Pathways given), and the Holland Code. For each Cluster, Pathway and Code, they are to find 2-3 careers in the area. The information they have to find and report on are: Career Title, Description, Average Annual Salary, Projected Outlook, Education, and a picture/clipart.
