About This Lesson

In this unit plan outline, students will discuss the importance of healthy water habitats. Students will be able to define and understand the four components of a habitat (shelter, food, water, and space). They will then observe and practice drawing various types of habitats. Students will use Lab Quest probes to measure oxygen levels and temperatures of three different water sources. Students will record results in an organized table and create a graph based on their results. Finally, students will use data as evidence, to support any conclusions made about the health of water and its impact on a habitat.
