About This Lesson

In this lesson, students explore photos of the Kara tribe and discuss the environmental and cultural impacts of the Gibe III dam in Ethiopia. Indigenous communities find their self-sustaining ways of life at risk due to the development of a hydropower dam in southwestern Ethiopia.
