Explore the long and unfinished struggle for women’s voting rights with this Women’s Equality Day resource commemorating the 105th anniversary of the 19th Amendment. Designed for grades 8–12, higher education and adult learners, the resource traces the women’s suffrage movement from the 1848 Seneca Falls Convention through the amendment’s ratification in 1920. Students will examine the contributions of influential activists, landmark legal challenges and the barriers that continued to prevent many Black and Native American women from voting. An accompanying worksheet offers discussion questions that encourage historical thinking and reflection on voting rights, representation and equality in the United States.
