PARTNER PROFILE

The National Math Foundation (NMF) is a 501(c)(3) public charity that works with schools, teachers, nonprofit and for-profit partners who improve communities. We offer Training Institutes and professional development for teachers throughout the U.S. The NMF is dedicated to empowering communities to work toward ensuring that ALL Americans, regardless of age, race, socio-economic class, and gender, are competent and confident in their math ability and have sufficient skills to be able to use math effectively in their jobs. Our mission: to foster exercise, wellness, and learning through movement as a means to develop a math literate community, and specifically address math skills, fluency, obesity and illiteracy. The goal is to physically, mentally, and emotionally engage students in math and literacy activities that teach today’s core curriculum while inspiring students to become tomorrow’s mathematicians. NMF provides awareness, facilitated training, support, and has supplemented costs associated with implementing new learning techniques to combat childhood obesity and illiteracy along with math and reading.

Math & Movement TM is a subsidiary of Learn Thru Movement, Inc, an American Company who manufactures all products in the U.S. It produces a full range of classroom, playground and home products with activity guides for children of all ages for math and reading literacy. Founded by author, mathematician and educator Suzy Koontz, the program supports state regulations, Common Core State Learning Standards, Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills, and may be included in classrooms, physical education programs, PTA events, before/after school programs, enrichment and tutoring programs.
