About This Webinar

The past couple of years have shown us the importance of students’ mental health and the impact that it has on their well-being and learning. It’s become clear that it’s important to keep mental health as strong as physical health. How can we support our students and help them develop strategies to manage difficult emotions?

In this session, Young Minds Inspired and On Our Sleeves, Nationwide Children’s Hospital will cover resources for discussing mental health and wellness with students in the classroom. We will include helping students learn about and increase empathy towards their peers. And we will highlight classroom tools to help children recognize, identify and manage their emotions.

Speakers

Dr. Ariana Hoet, Clinical Director, On Our Sleeves, Pediatric Psychologist, Nationwide Children’s Hospital

Colleen Caulfield, Director of Creative Development, Young Minds Inspired

Professional Credit

Available for one-hour of PD credit. A certificate of completion will be available for download at the end of your session that you can submit for your school's or district's approval.

Share My Lesson is now a New York State Education Department-approved provider for Continuing Teacher and Leader Education (CTLE) requirements and an Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) approved Professional Development provider.

Great webinar! Sorry for time change
I attended this session and found it filled with helpful resources to help students normalize emotions. Also, we do apologize that we had to shift some of our summer webinars to a later date due to unforeseen circumstances. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Time is an invaluable resource for teachers. But, good news all webinars from summer of learning are now available on demand and can be watched any time that works for you. https://sharemylesson.com/collections/summer-learning

Webinar change time without notification
Please notify registered AFT members of a time change while we are preparing for the upcoming school year as you know from B. Blackburn, TIME is important as well as communication. This small incident prompts rethinking membership with AFT to NEA.
