Soil is the thin layer of ground on the surface of the earth. Plants need soil to grow. Soil can be sorted by color, grain size, and texture. This lesson includes an experiment on soil and water retention.

Different types of soil featured: Silt, Sands Black sand, Humus, and Clay

The video also gives examples of products made from soil. Such as glass from sand and bricks and pottery from clay.

This is absolutely perfect as a first-time soil lesson for kindergarten, first grade, and second grade. Ideal review lesson for upper grade levels (3-5).
