About This Lesson

Students observe cutouts of birds around the classroom, sketch and describe field markings, and use field guides to make identifications.  

  • Students will understand how binoculars function.
  • tudents will practice observation skills through identifying field markings.
  • Students will identify birds using field guide.

This lesson is great for preparing students for BioBlitz or species inventory activities.
